Boston-based Students: Come work for RunKeeper as our Social Media Intern!

As you all know, we’re big at RunKeeper on communicating with our users.  We’ve made a concerted effort from the beginning to answer every email, respond to every forum post, and reach out to users and prospective users using social media tools like the Facebook fan page and twitter, among others.  We like to think that this strategy has helped us immensely, not only by making sure users get the answers you need about the product, but also by ‘humanizing the brand’ and giving us unique (we think) personality.

As I know you know, managing and nurturing our community of users and being responsive to your questions and issues is essential as we continue to grow.  Much of this interaction has been handled by me.  As the community grows, I’m being pulled in more and more directions as CEO at the same time that the demands of the community are continuing to increase. The last thing I want to do is pass the buck on these duties, especially since it is so important to our continued success that they be done right.  But what I could use is some help!

We are looking to bring on a Boston-based intern or recent college grad to work closely with me on managing our community and our social media strategy.  Great opportunity for someone to step in and learn first-hand what it is like to manage a large, growing community of user/evangelists.  I can tell you from experience that it is a lot of fun!

If you are a Boston-based undergraduate student or a recent college grad who is looking for an internship or a role with an exciting early stage startup, let me know!  You should be savvy about social media tools like Facebook and Twitter.  You should ideally have found an online voice already, and a desire to learn how to better apply that voice on behalf of a product/service/brand.

Think you have what it takes?  Send me an email at info(at)runkeeper.com, or find me on twitter—@runkeeper.  Looking forward to hearing from you!

Jason
