We’re still on a high from the awesomeness that was the 2014 Boston Marathon, and definitely not ready to move on just yet. As anyone who runs one of these races knows, lots and lots preparation and training go into getting ready for the big day. We wanted to take a look at where in our beloved hometown people trained for the Boston Marathon. The video below captures people’s training routes from December 1st to April 21st. We pulled the data from Runkeeper users who tracked the Boston Marathon route on race day.
You’ll notice some popular spots along the Charles River, as well as lots of runs practiced on the course itself. The darker lines indicated a higher volume of people running in a given spot. Can you tell what days were popular long run days?
