Training for the Amsterdam Marathon? We’ve got your 20-mile Routes!

Are you getting ready for the Amsterdam Marathon? If you’re following a traditional marathon training plan, you probably have a 20-mile run looming on the horizon. Getting mentally and physically ready for a run like that is no easy feat, so we took care of finding the perfect route for those of you living in Amsterdam.  Take a look at this list below, created by the Runkeeper community, and be sure to add your favorite route to your account and fire it up for the big run!

Marathon training in Amsterdam?

Bosbaan 20 Mile

Starting in the Old Center, follow the Amstel out to Amstelpark. Make your way in to Gijsbrechtvan Amstelpark and over to the Bosbaan for a loop around the Bos park and by the airport. After your loop of Bos, head back in to the Amstel by Gijsbrechtvan Amstelpark. Follow the Amstel right back up to where you started. Simple! Add this route to your routes right here!

City Loop

This loop sees you take in a lot of Amsterdam from the Old Centre, Plantage, the East, and the South district! Looking for a run in Amsterdam that takes in a bit of everywhere? This route is for you! Add it to your routes here!

Amstelveen Loop

This loop os going to take in the Amstelveen district. You’ll be running through many of Amsterdam’s finest parks including the Bos, Amsteldijk Noord, and Schipol. 19 miles of serene Amsterdam culture! Add it to your routes here!

Ouderkerk Loop

From the city centre, run the Amsteldijk Noord down for one big loop around Ouderkerk aan de Amstel. On completing this loop, follow the Noord back up to your starting point! Add it to your routes here!

South & West Loop

This route takes you around the Western and Southern districts of Amsterdam. Starting in the South, loop around Sloterplas lake and Osdorp. Make your way down to Schipol Noord and loop around to your starting point. Add this to your routes here!
