This weeks’ mix comes from Runkeeper UX designer Chase Clark, who kicked off our very first Music Monday with his Running Wild playlist. He’s back now with a hip hop mix designed to keep you on cadence. What’s cadence, you ask? The number of steps you take per minute while running.
Here’s Chase’s take on it and how this mix helps: “I’ve been focusing a lot more on cadence lately. Better cadence helps reduce injury and prevent over-striding. From what I’ve read you’re supposed to aim at 180 steps per minute. I’ve tried that and it’s a little hard for me, so for now I’m trying to stick around 160 steps per minute. This ends up being a pretty nice cadence for me, and I made this mix full of songs with an average of 160 beats per minute to help stay on beat.”
