Runkeeper joined the ASICS team just over a year ago and is excited to announce our latest collaboration, the ASICS Pace Academy Challenge. The native in-app experience features a series of interval workouts designed to help runners of all levels improve their speed.
A recent survey of Runkeeper users revealed that 78 percent of the users surveyed were interested in improving their pace, but 45 percent of these users did not know what they needed to do to improve. Through the ASICS Pace Academy Challenge, we hope to introduce a variety of speed-focused workouts for users to incorporate into their regular routine.
“At Runkeeper we’re committed to helping runners reach their goals,” said Dan Smith, CEO of Runkeeper. “With the ASICS Pace Academy Challenge, we’re excited to leverage our relationship with ASICS to provide our users with the tools they need to improve their speed and overall fitness.”
The Challenge is designed for runners of various experience levels and includes five speed workouts and a final 5 kilometer run to gauge progress. Each session will be customized to the baseline 5 kilometer time the runner sets at the beginning of the experience and includes audio cues to help guide you through the workout.
ASICS Pace Academy also includes training tips and inspiration from top athletes like sprinter Candace Hill, heptathlete Anouk Vetter, triathlete Jan Frodeno, and middle-distance runner Johnny Gregorek. Together, the multi-channel campaign aims to inspire runners to fly toward their goals and believe that fast is for everyone.
The campaign is focused around the ASICS FlyteFoam Fast Series of performance footwear featuring ASICS’ lightest-ever midsole technology. FlyteFoam provides lightweight cushioning to deliver the feeling of fast to a broad spectrum of runners across foot pronation patterns, experience levels and running goals. The ASICS FlyteFoam Fast Series includes:
- NOOSA FF™: Featuring a full-length FlyteFoam midsole, breathable upper and Wet Grip rubber sponge outsole
- GEL-DS TRAINER™ 22: A medium-high stability shoe featuring DYNAMIC DUOMAX™ support, enhancing stability and comfort
- DynaFlyte™: The latest color iteration of DynaFlyte. Full-length FlyteFoam midsole delivers lightweight cushioning
The ASICS Pace Academy Challenge is currently available globally for all users who have their default language set to English. The experience will be available in additional languages including Dutch, French, Italian, Spanish, German, Russian, Chinese, Korean, Portuguese, Swedish, and Japanese later this month.
